Spring Egg Shrine | Favourite Embossing Techniques

Hi everyone,

It's Fran here with you today.

My latest project takes on the theme of the month, favourite embossing techniques. I have showcased a couple of mine in this Spring themed egg shrine, complete with the sweetest tiny bird and nest. Read on to find out what they are!

The project started out with a plain papier mache egg decoration which I attached to a 3D metal cake mould tin via a cotton reel.

I glued a selection of paper flowers on top of the egg, then added flowers and painted all with chalk paint. For my first favourite technique I stamped a honeycomb design stamp from WOW!'s Hearts & Twine set with the Ultra Slow Drying clear ink pad and sprinkled with Clear Gloss embossing powder then melted with a heat tool.

Next I sprayed gold mica spray ink over to create a resist effect with the clear embossing on the surface of the egg. Into the the wet spray I added Rose Gold embossing powder onto the top of the egg and melted to give texture and contrast to the flowers.

The tin has been painted with the same chalk paint as used on the egg then decorated with a cluster of flowers around the base. To highlight the flowers I  used Fairy Tale and Rose Gold powders to give shimmer and natural looking highlights.

And a peek inside....

What's your favourite embossing technique? I'd love to know!

Susanne's Favourite Embossing Technique

Hi everyone!

Our April theme is "Your favourite embossing technique"! That's really easy for me, because this is my most used technique. Embossing resist! I LOVE to use Brushos on a embossed background.

I used the "Hearts & Twine" stamp set and embossed the circles with clear gloss powder on watercolour cardstock. As I wanted the heart to stand out, I used Memento Luxe Love Letter instead of clear embossing ink.
I wet the background and sprinkled some Brusho Sea Green on top.

The Birthday comes with the "Just Sayings" stamp set. I stamped it with StazOn Emerald City randomly onto my card. I cut the "happy" with a CUTplorations die and covered it with Salsa Embossing Glitter. Finally I adhered it with foam dots to my card.

Thank you for stopping by today.
xx Susanne.

Galaxy mixed media canvas

Hello, crafty friends!
Victoria is on the blog today. This month our team shares their favourite embossing techniques, be sure to join our challenge! As for me, I love the following techniques: partial background embossing and embossing of chipboards/die-cuts. I wanted to represent them on a bigger project than a regular card, so I created this canvas with a recent photo of mine.

I got to play with two Altenew Stamps: Basic Borders and Thinking Of You. I loved them so much I made two projects with them!

I created this very easy background using the entire stamp set as a background and inked it up with our WOW! Embossing Powder Inkpad (UK Shop, US Shop) and using a variety of our Primary Embossing Powders (UK Shop, US Shop) to create this rainbow effect! <3 The Primary Embossing Powders go really well with each other and I simplay love how glossy they are.

To finish off the card panel, I stamped a sentiment on a banner from the Thinking of You stamp set which has some lovely and very thoughtful phrases.

I couldn't resist so I created a small 6x8 scrapbook layout to go in my Project Life Album. This Basic Background stamp set is so much fun and you can get tons of different effects and designs from just one set!

Hello

Hello everybody, this is Laurence(laury55) to share my favorite technique, or at least one of my favorite techniques as I love to use embossing powder in different ways.
First use your stamp with your embossing pad and WOW clear Gloss embossing powder. You may now use your brush with gelatos, watercolor or distress ink in one or different colors. The melted powder will act as a resist.

This technique works well with a large stamp or a smaller one that is repeated on your background. I used a stamp of the Wall Art  set and stamped a few times. The flowers are heat embossed with  WOW Vanilla White. I used double sided adhesive and a die "hello", removed the paper and covered the die cut with WOW Sparkles Jade. I hope you will be inspired and show us your favorite technique with embossing powder!

WOW Spring Has Arrived!

Hello crafty friends, I hope you're all well and are enjoying a little bit of Spring weather! It's a bit cold and grey here on the Isle of Wight but that hasn't stopped me feeling inspired to make my Spring inspiration card.

I started by stamping several twine circles from the Hearts and Twine stamp on scrap card, cutting out and attaching down the left hand side of a piece of white card to create masked areas. I then used the Hearts and Twine and Wall Art Stamps in the background and used Avocado and Opaque Bright White Embossing Powders.

I then spritzed the card with water and applied Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks with a scrunched up baby wipe leaving some areas white then left to dry.

Once dry I then peeled off the masks,  stamped in the white gaps and used British Summer Time Embossing Powder. I used the same on the sentiment and on the stems which  I created using an embossing pen. I finally added some extra colour and sparkle with Sweets Cheeks Embossing Powder and Hot Gossip Embossing Glitter.

I hope this will help get your creative juices flowing!
